As we are intending on creating an action, thriller or horror film, we will most likely be using prop guns and weapons. When we edit together our film I will need to composite in muzzle flashes on each gun to make shooting scenes, if we have any, look realistic and true to the film genre type.
This tutorial from YouTube will help me edit in muzzle flashes as it shows us how to do it within the same video composting software that we'll be using - Adobe After Effects.
